Author Guidelines

Indonesian Journal of Sport Education and Governance (IJSEG)

Aims and Scope

Indonesian Journal of Sport Education and Governance (IJSEG) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original manuscripts that advance theory, research, policy, and practice in sport education, physical education, and governance. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies and innovative perspectives that contribute to the development of sport institutions and educational systems at local, national, and global levels.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

  • Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy

  • Curriculum and Instruction in Sport Education

  • Sport Governance and Policy

  • Leadership and Management in Sport Institutions

  • Evaluation Models in Sport Education (including CIPP and other evaluation frameworks)

  • Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Sport Programs

  • Digital Innovation in Sport Learning

  • Physical Literacy and Lifelong Physical Activity

  • Coach Education and Professional Development

  • Higher Education Governance in Sport and Physical Education

  • Sport Human Resources

IJSEG accepts manuscripts in the form of empirical research articles, literature reviews, conceptual papers, policy analyses, and case studies relevant to the journal’s scope.


1. General Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.

  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia with clear academic language.

  • Authors are fully responsible for the content, originality, and ethical integrity of the manuscript.

  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication will result in immediate rejection.

  • Similarity screening software may be used by the editorial team.

 


2. Manuscript Types

Research Articles

Original empirical studies based on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research. Maximum 7,000 words.

Review Articles

Critical and systematic reviews of literature related to the journal scope. Maximum 8,000 words.

Conceptual / Policy Papers

Scholarly discussion on theories, governance models, educational reforms, or policy frameworks. Maximum 6,000 words.

Case Studies

Institutional or program-based best practices in sport governance or sport education. Maximum 5,000 words.


3. Manuscript Format

  • Paper size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)

  • Margins: 2.54 cm on all sides

  • Font: Microsoft Word default compatible font (preferably Cambria or Times New Roman)

  • Font size: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.15 or single spacing

  • Page numbers required

  • Manuscript file format: DOCX

 


4. Structure of Manuscript

Title

  • Clear, concise, and informative

  • Maximum 20 words

  • Avoid abbreviations

Author Information

Include:

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • Email address of corresponding author

  • ORCID ID (recommended)

Abstract

Maximum 250 words containing:

  • Purpose

  • Methodology

  • Key findings

  • Implications

  • Conclusion

Keywords

3–5 keywords arranged alphabetically.

Main Body

Introduction

Contains research background, literature review, research gap, novelty, problem statement, and objectives.

Methods

Explain research design, participants, instruments, procedures, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations.

Results and Discussion

Present findings clearly using tables or figures where needed. Interpret findings critically and relate them to previous studies, theory, and implications.

Conclusion

Summarize major findings, contributions, limitations, and recommendations.

Acknowledgements (Optional)

Mention funding agencies or contributors.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.

References

All cited works must appear in the reference list.

 


5. Tables and Figures

  • Number consecutively using Arabic numerals

  • Table titles above tables

  • Figure captions below figures

  • Cite data sources if applicable

  • Use editable format, not screenshots


6. Citation and Reference Style

IJSEG uses APA 7th Edition referencing style as developed by American Psychological Association. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference managers such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 references for research articles

  • At least 70% from journal sources

  • Preferably published within the last 10 years

 


7. Ethical Standards

Authors must ensure:

  • Informed consent where applicable

  • Ethical clearance for human participant research

  • Accurate reporting of data

  • No plagiarism or manipulation

  • Proper acknowledgment of all contributors


8. Online Submission Procedure

Manuscripts should be submitted through the IJSEG online journal system.

Steps:

  1. Register as Author

  2. Log in to journal portal

  3. Start New Submission

  4. Upload Manuscript File

  5. Enter Metadata (authors, title, abstract, keywords)

  6. Upload Supplementary Files (if any)

  7. Confirm Submission

 


9. Review and Publication Process

  • Initial editorial screening

  • Double-blind peer review

  • Revision by authors

  • Final editorial decision

  • Copyediting and publication

Estimated review time: 4–8 weeks.
